Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Originating from Worthington Ohio she left high school to move to Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. The role she played as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) alongside her. Grace quit the show in the year 2005, to take on an even more prominent role in film, appearing alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. The actress starred on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. She was in 2013 for Season 6 of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's both an avid stargazer as well as a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Part of the Gyllenhaal family She is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career as a teenager with small roles in several of the films of her father and starred together with her brother in cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). The year 2002 saw her appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico as well as Sherrybaby (a dramatic) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Award. She had numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However the role she played in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). Nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). Gyllenhaal made her debut as a director and writer in 2021, with the drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For this film she was awarded an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
