Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma attended The Dragon School. From the age of six Emma was aware she was going to become an actress. For many years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. When she was ten, she had appeared and played as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It was also one of the top-rated films during 2001. Its opening weekend and day the sales were record breaking. It was highly acclaimed by experts, and also by the performances of its three new starlets. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in the feature Film. She was later awarded five times for her part in the film.
